Reflection so far...

This week was spent talking about the proposal corrections we could do to make our blog postings make more sense and mean something. I started looking further into developing my search field for my project. I narrowed down some searches into the cell phone carries and frequencies. Most phones in Brazil use the GSM technology and operate on the 800MHz or 900MHz frequency. Most of the more popular phones use the 800MHz frequency. Claro phones are also very popular in Brazil for service.
The one major downfall that I am noticing right now in my research is the cost rates to use the phones. You can also rent phones to use while you are there which is another interesting idea. There is the option of having a GSM phone in the US and having a friend buy you a SIM card and credits in Brazil and you can just put the SIM card in your phone when you get there. This is a semi cheap way to go and should work if your GSM phone from the US is unlocked. You can do this by calling your phone carrier and tell them you are making a trip to Brazil and you need the code to have your phone unlocked.

I am still looking for more websites to help me with the small location and personnel questions to help me with my project.

  1. What did you mean by "small location and personnel questions"?

  2. Some of the thing I was curious about are hard to find on website so I have to try to wait for my friend who is staying down there to get on Skype so that I can ask them in person and get a live reference. By small locations, I think I was referring to different living arrangements. People in nicer areas of town as opposed to those who don't have as much money.
