So I have gotten off to a slow start with the various blogging tools and programs. This is a whole new area for me to use. I was pretty consistent with facebook but now I have about 4-5 different tools to use. Twitter being one of them. I think I understand probably the very basics of twitter while the rest of it remains a mystery to me. I have managed to use it on my phone but that is about it. The whole @ and # symbols are still complicated for me to use. The blogger tool has become easier for me to use with the dyscus additive part. The whole writing about myself in blog format is also new to me because I am normally not to good at writing stuff about what I did or do.
My social media experience is confusing at times. I think I am slowly getting used to it and feel like it will be a lot while longer before I have a very good working experience of all the applications and the many things that you can do with each application. I have also started to use skype in various communication aspects. A friend of mine has recently traveled to Brazil so I will be using skype as a means of communication from the US to Brazil. We don't have as much of a time difference as Singapore so hopefully we can get our times to match up eventually and carry on live communication. I think I may try to use skype in connection with Spain and Mexico contacts throughout the semester. Most of my social media experience is done through facebook though. I am connected to people in various states and countries so I have been getting the social experience for a long time now.
I'm not exactly sure what I am going to do for my course project. I will get a better idea of topics once we dive a little deeper into the course material. I would be interested in using the social media concepts we have discussed to talk to people in various countries both live and through blogs.
Through the blogging aspect, I think I have found it easy and useful to document various technical projects that I end up doing over time. It is more fun to type it out than write it out...and also I can read it weeks later and understand what I wrote.

Although you said "I am normally not to (sic) good at writing stuff about what I did or do" you actually did a pretty good of REFLECTION by explaining your struggles!
ReplyDeleteWith respect to those struggles, you've got to TRY in order to learn HOW to use the tools better!
